Slovakian Academic and Journalist Branislav Ondrasik

Branislav Ondrasik, a Slovakian Academic and former Journalist spoke Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the IU School of Journalism.




Ondrasik gave a presentation to graduate students about US election coverage in Eastern Europe, and more specifically, in The Republic of Slovakia.
Ondrasik also talked about protests that erupted after the former Prime Minister's party was rocked by corruption scandals. According to Ondrasik, Slovakian voters
became aware of corruption after reading Wikileaks cables involving high-level government officials and prominent businessmen.

Branislav Ondrasik worked for many years in Bratislava, Slovakia as a print, and broadcast journalist before studying Mass Communication Theory at
Michigan State University. He also studied at the University of Michigan, at the University of Leeds, and was awarded a Fullbright Scholarship in 2006.
